The Energy Goast Planning Unit held a succession of public consultation events this month at Casterton Village Hall, Greysouthen Village Hall, Hutton-In-The-Forest Village Hall, and Seascale Golf Club as part of its ongoing engagement programme across West Cumbria.
The sessions provided residents with early access to key elements of the Energy Goast initiative, including the infrastructure timeline, symbolic deterrent frameworks, and deep-time stewardship strategy. The event also offered insight into how local landscapes will be integrated into the broader aerospace, energy, and heritage transformation plan outlined in the newly released Energy Goast Press Kit.
Attendees engaged in a structured Q&A session and participated in small-group feedback workshops focusing on memory transmission, environmental regeneration, and long-term site visibility.
“It’s reassuring to see this level of clarity and ambition,” said one participant.
Feedback from the event will be incorporated into the next stage of regional planning simulations, including considerations around symbolic infrastructure, community interface, and public-facing guidance protocols.
The Energy Goast Planning Unit thanks all attendees for their considered input and commitment to the region’s future.
